OUR PURPOSE:  The Cumberland County Public Schools Foundation Inc., established in 2001, is a 501 © (3) non-profit organization that provides a channel for individuals, businesses, and foundations to make tax deductible gifts to the Cumberland County Public School system.  Its purpose is to raise private funds to augment public dollars and thereby enhance the educational experience for all students in our public schools.  We welcome the support of our community partners in providing an outward and visible sign that Cumberland County is committed to achieving excellence in our public schools.


OUR GOALS:  (1) To support development of new and improved educational opportunities for students and teachers through GRANTS.  (2) To investigate, solicit, develop and administer funds to benefit students and graduates of Cumberland High School through SCHOLARSHIPS.


OUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS:
Officers:  Bruce Robinson, Chairman; Barbara Gamage, Corresponding Secretary; Beverly Hill, Recording Secretary; Cliff White, Treasurer.

Members:  Olander Fleming, Chip Jones, Linda Lineweaver, Bill Osl, David Patteson, Van Petty, Jeff Scales, Patricia Scales, Ernestine Sharpe, Fred Shumaker.


OUR ACCOMPLISHMENTS:  Since 2001, the Cumberland County Public Schools Foundation, Inc. Board has awarded the following:


  •  GRANTS totaling $107,734 to teachers in K-12th Grades.  A Grant Committee, consisting of Foundation Board members, annually selects qualified Grant applications submitted by teachers and which have no other avenue for funding.

  • SCHOLARSHIPS totaling $203,600 to graduates of Cumberland High School.  The Scholarship Committee, consisting of Foundation Board members and private donors, annually selects qualified candidates from applications submitted by high school and college students.
